What do you do when your neighbour goes completely wild?
Award-winning director James Dawson’s new documentary is set in the rolling hills of Devon, telling the story of two neighbouring farmers, Derek Gow and Derek Banbury, who share the same name but take radically different approaches to land use.
In equal parts hilarious and moving, the film shines a light on the vital debate surrounding the future of rural Britain. Tempers fray, wild animals escape, and an unlikely friendship emerges, all while the landscape between the two farmers transforms.
Following the screening, Dawson and Impact Producer Nicola Brown, whose work ensures the documentary is seen by farming communities and film buffs alike, will lead an audience Q&A. Join us for an evening of wildlife, livestock, and lively discussion around how farming and nature restoration might work together.

James Dawson is an experienced, award-winning, documentary director whose films have won several BAFTAs and a Rose D’or. James’ first independent feature documentary was Organ Stops: Saving the King of Instruments, about a group of eccentric pipe organ enthusiasts saving instruments from closing churches.
Nicola Brown is an impact producer and adviser who specialises in environmental storytelling, documentaries and short-form production. She has worked on campaigns with Blue Planet, Frozen Planet, The Earthshot Prize and Count Us In, among many others. Nicola is continually looking to find new ways to tell natural history and conservation focused stories through the ever changing landscape of social media, striving to reach new audiences beyond the conservation ‘echo-chamber’ and to encourage important conversations and real world change.
