Ben Kellard, Director of Business Strategy at CISL, guided the audience through the practical steps of transforming into a purpose-driven organization. Fabrizio Palmucci, a senior advisor at the Climate Bonds Initiative, shared insights from his two decades of experience in the fixed-income space. Caroline Haas, Head of Climate and ESG Capital Markets at NatWest, highlighted a holistic approach to sustainability in finance. Valeria Piani, Head of Stewardship at Phoenix Group, discussed influencing ESG performance in investee companies through stewardship.

Fabrizio Palmucci, CFA, is a senior advisor at the Climate Bonds Initiative, the founder of Impactivise, a consultancy boutique and a contributing author” to SustainFinance. He has spent close to 20 years in the fixed-income buy-side space in different roles, including trading, credit analysis and strategy, and with several firms, from boutique to tier-one asset managers and rating agencies.
Caroline Haas is the Head of Climate and ESG Capital Markets at NatWest, working closely with origination teams in the public markets and private finance arena, focusing on a holistic approach to sustainability. In addition, she represents NatWest on the GFMA Board, the LSE’s Sustainable Bond Market Advisory Council, AFME’s Sustainable Finance working group and ICMA’s Transition Bond working group.

Valeria Piani is Head of Stewardship at Phoenix Group. She joined the firm in September 2021 to lead a stewardship team and collaborate with Phoenix’s Asset Management partners to influence ESG performance by investee companies. She has over 15 years of experience in the industry and has held a number of senior positions at different firms. She joined UBS Asset Management in 2017 as Strategic Engagement Lead responsible for the manager’s climate change engagement programme, stewardship reporting and integration research in the industrial sector. Prior to this, Valeria worked for nine years as Associate Director at the UN-backed Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) where she managed a team of 11 members responsible for coordinating investor collaborative engagement activities with companies on a range of ESG issues.
