An Evening with Acclaimed Director Carrie Cracknell
Carrie Cracknell will be joining us to discuss her remarkable career, her transition from stage to screen and the lack of female representation in decision-making roles on set.
What more needs to be done to bring brilliant female characters to life and how do we make sure it’s women calling the shots on set?
Fresh off the set of Netflix’s Persuasion starring Dakota Johnson, Carrie Cracknell is more usually found directing smash hit plays from London to New York. Carrie’s acclaimed work includes Sea Wall/A Life starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Medea starring Helen McCrory as well as countless others at the National Theatre.
This event is in collaboration with Aluna Entertainment, a London based film & television production company founded by Vanessa Kirby, aiming to tell stories from the spectrum of the female experience.
About Aluna Entertainment:
Aluna has created the ongoing creative scheme ALUNA LABS, a professional development programme of events tailored around support for female identifying writers, directors, producers and practitioners who are looking to transition into film from other forms of storytelling. The first event in the Aluna Labs series will take place on the same day as this event in collaboration with The Mono Box.
