Palantir and the UK Public Sector
July 27, 6:15 pm
July 27, 6:15 pm
In 2023, NHS England awarded a £330 million contract to Palantir to provide a new data platform. On 3 June 2026, the cross-party House of Commons Science, Innovation and Technology Committee warned about Palantir’s increasing presence in the UK public sector. The committee called for the government to terminate NHS England’s contract with Palantir, due to the company’s support of ‘highly controversial policies and activities.’
Join us at The Conduit for a timely discussion of surveillance, spy-tech, procurement and privacy. Our guest panellists, including Amnesty International’s Hajira Maryam and Andrew Feinstein, Executive Director at Shadow World Investigations, Donald Campbell, Director of Advocacy at Foxglove, will discuss the place of big tech in the UK public sector. They will consider the political, legal and social ramifications of Palantir’s involvement, particularly in the NHS, and the ways this is currently being challenged.
The discussion will be chaired by The Canary’s Abla Kandalaft and will include opportunities for the audience to share their questions and experiences.
