Dr Federica Amati: GLP-1s and the Biology of Appetite
June 3, 6:15 pm
June 3, 6:15 pm
GLP-1 medications: millions of people have used them, millions more are considering them. They have transformed how we eat, drink and think about appetite. Yet for all their impact and rapid uptake, one question remains unanswered and leaves a critical gap in support: how do you nourish your body whilst taking weight-loss medications in a way that supports long-term health?
Leading nutritionist and medical scientist Dr Federica Amati joins us at The Conduit to discuss protecting metabolism and building a sustainable relationship with food at every stage of GLP-1 or “peptide therapy”. In her new book, The Appetite Reset, Dr Amati provides compassionate and science-based advice for those interested in resetting their appetite biology through GLP-1s, currently taking them, or navigating life after stopping.
This informative event, chaired by Rhiannon Lambert, will explore the societal attitudes and identity shifts that can accompany appetite suppression, as well as unpacking the science of appetite, and the hormones and mechanisms behind it.
