Place-Based Energy Transitions: Power Station Film Screening and Q&A
April 13, 6:00 pm
April 13, 6:00 pm
In POWER STATION, artist-activists Hilary Powell and Dan Edelstyn set out to take their Walthamstow street off the grid. This kickstarted a solar-powered energy revolution and provided a prototype for a new way of living, pushing towards sustainable alternatives. Directed by the duo, the film charts their turbulent journey and is a testament to the power of art in changing minds.
Dan Edelstyn joins us for this event, where a screening of the film will be followed by a conversation between Dan, Stew Horne of Energy Savings Trust and Conduit members Rufus Grantham of Living Places and Laila Takeh of Spiralforms (chair).
The evening builds on momentum from the Climate & Nature community gatherings throughout the last year, focused on place-based solutions, energy transformation, and valuing nature. We’re excited to be connecting the dots with a story of activism merged with everyday life, and to be hearing from guests and Conduit members working on different dimensions of the green and just transition.
