Britain in the World: A Time of Decline or Reinvention?
Tues 10 Jun, 6pm – 7:30pm
Tues 10 Jun, 6pm – 7:30pm
As global power shifts, Britain faces a defining question: is it still a major player on the world stage, or have Brexit, economic instability, and new superpowers left it on the sidelines?
Former Foreign Secretary and Chancellor Jeremy Hunt believes Britain can still defend democracy and shape global affairs. But his political career has been divisive. As Health Secretary, he championed reforms that some credit with modernizing the NHS, while others argue they caused lasting damage. His role in government raises a key question: does his vision for Britain’s future match the challenges we actually face?
With Trump’s return, global instability, and a cost-of-living crisis at home, this conversation will explore both the opportunities and the doubts surrounding Britain’s future. Join us at The Conduit for a conversation on what Britain stands for, where it’s heading, and how it can secure its place in a changing world.
