How to Fight Misinformation
Chris Morris, CEO of Full Fact, unpacks the global misinformation crisis and its threat to democracy.
In an era of rising misinformation, disinformation, and democratic backsliding, the fight for truth has never been more critical. As AI-generated falsehoods spread faster than ever, and trust in institutions continues to erode, how can we protect democracy from bad information?
Chris Morris, CEO of Full Fact and former BBC Reality Check editor, joins BBC journalist and presenter Adam Fleming for an in-depth discussion on the misinformation crisis, its role in fuelling extremism, and how we can fight back.
With years of experience fact-checking major political events – including Brexit, the U.S. elections, and the COVID-19 pandemic – Morris will share insights into the frontline battle against bad information. Can technology be part of the solution? How do we restore trust in public debate? And what role do governments, media, and citizens play in shaping the future of democracy?
Join us for a conversation on truth, trust, and the survival of democracy in the digital age.
This program is presented in collaboration with Pranvera Shema Smith, founder of On Front Line.
