Britain’s History Through Its Enemies with Terry Deary

Bestselling Horrible Histories author Terry Deary brings history to life with a fun and eye-opening look at the enemies who shaped Britain.

Britain’s story is full of battles, rivalries, and unforgettable characters. Terry Deary, the bestselling author of Horrible Histories, takes us on a hilarious and eye-opening journey through the enemies that made Britain what it is today—from the Romans and Vikings to Napoleon and the Nazis.

With surprising stories and a sharp sense of humour, Deary uncovers the unexpected truths behind the history we think we know. Did you know Nelson’s body was pickled in brandy to preserve it? Or that Boudicca wasn’t the hero history paints her to be? More than just a history lesson, Deary’s shows how past conflicts brought people together, sparked new ideas, and shaped the world we live in. His stories remind us that even in tough times, there’s room for growth, creativity, and unity.

Enjoy a fun night out at The Conduit filled with laughs, surprises, and fresh perspectives on Britain’s history like you’ve never heard it before.
