This session will focus on how collaborative efforts can bridge the skills gap and ensure a just transition for all. We will explore actionable solutions to provide individuals with the tools needed to thrive in the green economy, ensuring no one is left behind as we build a sustainable future.

DR GUIDO SCHMIDT-TRAUB, Partner, Systemiq

Dr. Guido Schmidt-Traub is Partner at Systemiq Ltd. where he drives work on nature finance, food transitions, green skills, sustainable finance, and policy. From 2021-2024, he served as Managing Partner of the firm.

KATE O’SULLIVAN Senior Director, EU Public Policy and Economic Graph, LinkedIn

Kate is responsible at LinkedIn for public policy and Economic Graph programmes in the EU. Her team partners with governments, as well as with some of the world’s leading economic institutions, such as the ECB and the OECD. Prior to joining LinkedIn in 2020, Kate was Vice President for Corporate Affairs at Virgin Media Ireland and before that, worked for Liberty Global.

STEVE COULTER, Head of Greening the Economy, Green Alliance

Steve leads Green Alliance’s work on greening the economy. He joined Green Alliance in June 2023 from the Tony Blair Institute, where he was head of industrial strategy and skills. Steve is also senior visiting fellow at the European Institute of the London School of Economics, where he was previously a faculty member teaching and researching political economy. Steve has also worked in Brussels for the European Trade Union Institute, the applied research arm of the European TUC, and for BBC News as an economics and business analyst and producer. He has written several books on economics and politics and his latest, on the economics of industrial strategy, was published in 2023 by Agenda. He has a BA in history from Cambridge University and a PhD in political economy from the LSE.
