How Conduit Connect is building bold solutions for a better future

In a world facing urgent challenges, Conduit Connect brings together innovators, investors, and changemakers to deliver real impact. From life-saving incubators to AI-driven healthcare and circular economy breakthroughs, discover how this community is funding solutions – and how you can be part of the change, by Nick Hamilton

It is easy to look at the world today and observe a list of challenges which is growing in both length and severity. Optimism and a belief we can drive change are crucial tools but can also be hard to come by.

The good news is that there are solutions to our most pressing problems. At the Conduit we know that change is hard which is why we need policy makers, activists, NGOs, entrepreneurs and many others. Developing solutions is why we built a diverse community of changemakers with different lived experiences, from across geographies and sectors – each of you with your own talents, goals, and good news stories.

I would like to highlight just a couple of good news stories in the hope I can fill you with some autumnal optimism.

If we look at activism and action, the Conduit Climate and Nature community recently visited a project in Ealing run by one of our members that is reintroducing beavers into urban wildlife. Beavers help rewild landscapes, build natural flood defences, and bolster biodiversity. The project’s success has inspired other beaver rewilding programmes across the country.

On the policy side, the UK Climate Change Committee’s 2025 report was notably positive, concluding that while more (difficult!) action needs taking, it is still possible for the UK to meet both its 2030 and 2050 carbon targets – a marked change from the much less upbeat reports of recent years.

And on the entrepreneurship and technological progress side, we continue to see talented and driven entrepreneurs drive change at incredible velocity. To offer a few examples, within the last 12 months the Conduit EIS Impact Fund managed by Conduit Connect has invested in:

  • mOm incubators – a business with a novel low-cost incubator for pre-term babies currently saving lives of the most vulnerable children in both the UK and conflict zones worldwide.
  • Lucida – a business using AI to detect solid tumours from MRI scans at a greater degree of accuracy than even expert clinicians.
  • Matoha – a sensor technology business enabling affordable and fast sorting of textiles, a vital component for the transition to a circular textile industry.

The aspect of the Conduit Impact Fund that I am most proud of is how it embodies the best of our community. The fund does not only invest capital, but it also harnesses the collective power of our extraordinary community to develop the solutions we need. The Conduit eco-system will continue to nurture the knowledge and networks needed to help businesses accelerate their growth – and ultimately create measurable impact.

For those of you who would like to become more involved with the Conduit Impact Fund – it is currently open for investment. The minimum investment is £25,000 and UK tax payers can benefit from EIS tax relief. To learn more about the Fund you can access the deck here. Links to book time with the team or send them an email are included below.

We founded the Conduit as a convening space for changemakers to inspire each other and work on real world solutions. I would like to extend a personal thank you to everyone in this community – as so much of what I feel optimistic about stems from here.

Yours with optimism,

Nick
